Starogard - Poland
The Starogard County, nestled in the picturesque Kociewie region of Poland, has taken a significant step towards enhancing public safety. The "Kociewie Sets the Rhythm! - AED Network in Starogard County" project, initiated in 2016 by the Starogard County Office, has seen the deployment of 27 AEDs across the county.
This proactive initiative has garnered national attention, with the project being showcased at a prestigious medical conference in Katowice. Patryk Gabriel, Deputy Starosta of Starogard County, expressed his pride in the project, highlighting its pioneering role in local government initiatives of this kind.
The project is not just about providing life-saving equipment; it's also about empowering the community. A comprehensive educational campaign, focusing on first aid training, especially for young people in county schools, is a key component. Experienced paramedics conduct these training sessions, equipping participants with the skills to respond effectively to life-threatening situations, potentially initiating a rescue operation within crucial minutes.

The AED defibrillators are housed in distinctive green Rotaid 247 cabinets, easily identifiable by their round shape and the international AED symbol.
While specific data on the number of lives saved is not yet available, the "Kociewie Sets the Rhythm!" project stands as a testament to the county's commitment to public safety. By expanding the AED network and fostering a culture of preparedness, Starogard County is taking proactive steps to safeguard its residents.
