Lifesavers installed across 90 train stations in the North West Region
Network Rail and Norhtern have rolled out life saving defibrillators over 90 railway stations in the North West to help save people in cardiac arrest.
The £134,000 investment has created a network of 90 stations all equipped with the vital medical kit. Blackburn was the first Lancashire station to benefit, followed by stations Bamber Bridge, Poulton-le-Fylde, St-Annes-on-the-Sea, Lytham, Leyland and Kirkham & Wesham stations.
Network Rail's infrastructure runs from London Euston and Marylebone in the south through the Chiltern and West Midlands regions, the North West of England and Cumbria before joining with Scotland at Gretna. It is home to the West Coast Mainline, the busiest mixed-use railway in Europe, serving London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Glasgow serving over 1,3 million travellers daily.
